Using Horn and High Beams

In my opinion, using horn and high beaming is usually unnecessary for the experienced and polite drivers.

It seems these are used more like an expression of an emotion. Such as, impatience, inconvenience, etc.

The trolly good drivers can handle any traffic situation skillfully and hence would rarely use the horn or high beaming.

Some drivers say it’s used to warn of safety. Maybe, but if there’s time to use the horn or high beam, there’s time to handle the situation without needing to use it.

Why does it seem so rampant here in Singapore? I think it’s the lack of need for accountability when one is in the car. If someone used the horn on you of any expression, would you approach to ask what happen or what they mean, or what you did wrong? They would just horn and run off. It’s like an audible middle finger.

The high beam is often used to rush you. I.e. impatience.

The horn used when you change lane in front of them. I.e. inconvenienced

Fellow drivers, i urge you to just handle the situation and not use horn or high beam.
